who have no outstanding fines or overdue items can reserve
and renew books from anywhere electonically - 24 hours
a day - seven days a week.
To reserve an item
1. On home page, click
"On-line Book Catalog" .
2. Use the search box drop-down menus to define your
search terms. You may search by title, author, or keyword,
and several other terms.
Clicking on the Advanced Search button will allow you
to further refine your search if you wish.
3. You can limit your search to any library, or search
all of the Nassau County libraries.
4. When you have found
the title record you want, click on "Request ".
5. The next screen will
ask for your name, library card number (enter the entire
number with no spaces) and your PIN. If you have not
yet set your PIN, the system will prompt you to do so
by asking for your PIN twice.
(You may be asked to choose one item from the list of
owning libraries; if so,click on the radio button of
our library's copy, if it is displayed. If not, you
may choose any library's copy. You may also be asked
for a date by which, if the request is not filled, you
wish the request cancelled. You can ignore this and
just click on the "Request" button.)
6. Click on the "Submit"
button.
To renew an item
1. On home page, click
"Online Book Catalog"
2. Go into "My Library
Account". The system will ask for your name, library
card number, and PIN. If this is the first time you
are using your PIN the system will give you the opportunity
to set it. The next screen will have links to your requests
and to a listing of the items you have checked out on
your card.
3. Click on the "Requests"
button. If there is a box next to the title of an item,
it is renewable. Click on that box and then click on
"Renew Selected Items" . You may also choose
"Renew all".
