Public Access Computers

• Sixteen computers are located in the adult reading area. They are accessible on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please remember to bring your library card or identification with you when visiting the library and a USB flash drive if you need to save your work.

• Internet sessions are limited to one hour at a time.
• Thirteen computers in the Children's Room are intended for the use of children in Kindergarten through Grade 6.
• Three computers in the Young Adult Department may be used by patrons in Grades 7 through 12.

Software Available:
Internet Explorer-compatible web browser; Microsoft Word 2003; Microsoft Excel 2003; Microsoft PowerPoint 2003;
 
Printers
All public computers are connected to a networked monochrome laser printer and Color printer. All public computer users may print up to two black and white pages per day at no cost.  Additional black and white printing is charged at ten cents per page.  Color charge is 25 cents per page (no free pages).
 
Fax Services
There is a Fax machine located at the circulation desk. The charge is $1.00 per page, with the exception of resumes and cover letters, which are $.50 per page. Domestic Fax only.
 
Scanner
A color scanner is available for public at computer #4 to # 8.
 
Copiers
The library has two black & white copier; one is located near the Adult Reference Desk, one in the Children's Room. The cost per page is 10 cents. The library does not have a color copier.


Wireless Internet Access image

The Merrick Public Library is pleased to offer wireless Internet access to our patrons. Simply bring your wireless-enabled laptop computer or other device to the Library, turn it on, and go. There is no charge to use the service and the best part is there is no waiting for an available PC!
